![]() Of course this is what we've all been wanting for ninety-nine episodes, but the way they do it, it just doesn't feel right. ![]() The press conference thing also did a nice job of reminding the audience that Adrien can't disobey his father, and that Adrien knows that everything Gabriel does is for the sake of his mother, both of which facts become very important later.Īnyway, the short version of the main point in this episode is it becomes such that Ladybug must find out Chat Noir's true identity. And Gabriel told him, "Under no circumstances are you to leave that press conference." He probably did that out of concern for Adrien's safety, now that I think of it, but of course that meant Ladybug had to fight the villain without Chat Noir, which told us that this was going to be a long-awaited "learn to appreciate Chat Noir" episode, but boy did they take it in a direction we did not expect. So the episode starts with Adrien being forced to attend a press conference in the place of his father, who is pretending to be sick but is actually off to make a supervillain. ![]() We were disappointed when the subtitles said "century" instead of "100 years." Yes, they're the same thing, but 100 is kind of a theme here. Thanks to Cecille's reporting, we were aware that there was a sort of big deal made about the hundredth episode, and to be honest, I'm not sure if I would have picked up on the fact that the number 100 came up so many times in the dialogue otherwise. It's the same reason we've told everyone who asks, "Why can't they just tell each other!?" as if it's a huge major problem with the story, and boy howdy did they prove it was right.īut I remembered! It was the hundredth episode. The important thing is that, for the first time, Ladybug spelled it out to someone (and therefore the audience) why she and Chat Noir cannot know each other's secret identities. Whew, I'm so glad we're done.Īnd now we can review the most recent-to-us episode of Miraculous! Just summaries of the story over and over and over, and character descriptions, too! And even when it was copy-and-paste, it was nice because we didn't have to think too much about it, but we still had to focus enough to read it and confirm that it was the same as what we already had. We were going to start translating a new series today, but then we remembered we had some extras to translate for a simulpub-turned-tankobon, so we did that instead, and oh man, was it tedious.
